Introducing Clay Taulbee Myers, Trial Lawyers

Attorneys Chuck Clay, Wes Taulbee, and Jim Myers have joined forces to launch a new law firm to serve the survivors of catastrophic injuries and the families of wrongful death victims.

Chuck Clay and Wes Taulbee became fast friends in law school, but their legal careers took them in different directions. Chuck worked as a corporate defense attorney in Atlanta while Wes, following a few years in the city, found himself drawn back to Statesboro, where he enjoyed a broad-scoped law practice that allowed him to serve his hometown community. Chuck and Wes collaborated on several cases over the years with a shared goal of eventually working together as partners.

Not long after Chuck left corporate defense and opened up a plaintiffs firm, he encountered Jim Myers as a courtroom adversary. While Chuck was impressed with Jim’s passionate advocacy, Jim admired Chuck’s trial skills. When Jim decided to leave corporate defense and commit his litigation expertise to help people in need, Chuck invited Jim to join his practice.

Recently, circumstances aligned and created the opportunity for Chuck, Wes, and Jim to finally become partners. On September 1, 2022, they officially launched the law firm of Clay Taulbee Myers, a plaintiffs firm handling catastrophic injury and wrongful death claims.

Chuck says, “We are all at the point in our careers where we can afford to take on important and challenging cases, and litigate those cases in a way that takes advantage of our collective experience. This is the law firm I’ve always dreamed of.”

Jim characterizes Clay Taulbee Myers as a boutique law firm. “We are not about volume,” Jim says, “We want to take the time to understand the families who trust us with their cases, and we want to tailor a litigation approach that matches their definition of justice.”

Wes says the personal approach Jim describes is what excites him most about the new firm. “A lot of people feel there is Atlanta, and then there’s the rest of Georgia. I’ve been serving ‘the rest of Georgia’ all my career, and now there is an opportunity to take that hometown style of practicing law and apply it to high-stakes cases.”

Chuck, Wes, and Jim all agree that Clay Taulbee Myers is the culmination of their collective careers. Chuck says, “Together, we are going to be able to do a lot of good work and make a difference in people’s lives.”
